Demonstration/Disorder

A.    Demonstrations are generally lawful.  The United States Supreme Court adopted a standard which says that all conduct is permitted as long as it does not materially disrupt class work, or involve substantial disorder, or invade the rights of others.

B.    Any demonstration on the campus that is unruly or interferes with normal activities is unlawful.

C.    The Vice President of Student Affairs or designee should be informed immediately of the situation.

D.    The following guidelines will be followed to assure the safety of students, staff and faculty.

1.    Notify University Police.
2.    All occupants should remain in their offices or classrooms.
