Homecoming Court

The Homecoming Court is made up of male and female-identifying representatives from each undergraduate class that participate in various Homecoming festivities throughout the week, including the Homecoming parade.

Candidates must complete the Homecoming Candidate Petition Form by 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 10th; they must also attend a mandatory candidate meeting. There will be three candidate meetings, one at 10 am and one at 5 PM on Monday October 9th, as well as one at 1 PM on Tuesday October 10th. Candidates MUST attend one of these meetings to run. Campaigning begins at the adjournment of the last meeting.

Homecoming Queen

  1. Must have completed at least six (6) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation.
  2. Must have a 2.5 GPA.
  3. Must identify as a female.
  4. Must present a platform.

Homecoming King

  1. Must have completed at least six (6) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation.
  2. Must have a 2.5 GPA.
  3. Must identify as a male.
  4. Must present a platform.

Homecoming Court

  1. All Freshmen candidates must have completed fewer than two (2) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation and be in good standing with the university.
  2. All Sophomore candidates must have completed at least two (2), no more than three (3) semesters in a two- or four year undergraduate university following high school graduation and be in good standing with the university.
  3. All Junior candidates must have completed at least four (4), no more than five (5) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation and be in good standing with the university.
  4. All freshman, sophomore, and junior candidates must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Classification of Students (As specified in the SGA Constitution):

  • Freshmen - have completed fewer than two (2) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation.
  • Sophomore - have completed at least two (2), no more than three (3) semesters in a two- or four year undergraduate university following high school graduation
  • Junior – have completed at least four (4), no more than five (5) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation
  • Senior – have completed at least six (6) semesters in a two- or four- year undergraduate university following high school graduation

*Graduate students do not qualify to run for Homecoming.
*Candidates may request that the Attorney General reconsider their classification should they feel their assigned classification does not truly represent them. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
