Fireside Chat – October 1, 2018 – Intramural Opportunities

Joining President LaForge is Maisey Kent, a graduate assistant for intramurals in the department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.

Students, now that the fall semester is in high gear and you’re hard at work, here are a few questions for you.

Do you need to blow off steam in a fun way? Then join dodgeball intramurals. Are you a fan of the laidback Dude in the movie, The Big Lebowski? Then strike up an interest in bowling. Do you strive to hit the bull’s-eye in most of what you do? Then add archery to your pastimes.

Delta State takes pride in more than our robust academics. We also stress quality of life. So, consider participating in intramurals!

Last year, 2,024 students did—1,191 men and 833 women signed up for intramurals, from approximately two dozen choices of activities, from longstanding traditions such as softball, flag football, and basketball to more obscure sports like Spikeball, Pickleball, and KanJam.

In other news on campus, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will perform at the BPAC on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. to close out the fifth annual International Conference on the Blues.
