You can find us on the 1st floor of Roberts-LaForge Library, where our Academic Support Lab is equipped with 32 touchscreen computers featuring Hawkes Math programs, Microsoft Office 365, and even free printing! Just a short walk away, the Tutoring Center is here for you too, offering free tutoring, cozy study spaces, collaborative learning areas, and the latest smart technology to help you shine academically. Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction
With Tutor.com, we’re excited to offer online tutoring that gives you around-the-clock access to academic support, right when you need it, through Canvas! If you’re looking for a more personal touch, our face-to-face peer tutoring at the Student Success Center is perfect for connecting you with fellow students who are eager to help you navigate through challenging coursework. No matter if you prefer virtual assistance or in-person guidance, we’re here to cheer you on in your academic journey every step of the way!
Developmental Studies Courses
Freshman students admitted with ACT scores below 16 in two or more subtest areas will be required to participate in a Year-Long Academic Support Program. The Year-Long Academic Support Program: CED 098 (first semester) and CED 099 (second semester) is designed to help students navigate through the first year of college.
First-Year Seminar
The First-Year Seminar (FYS) course, part of the First-Year Experience (FYE), helps incoming freshmen and transfer students transition into college life at Delta State University. This mandatory course builds academic skills, promotes well-being, and connects students to key campus resources. Through interactive activities and support networks, FYS sets students up for success.
