The popularity of active learning methods and the explosion of different teaching options means that college teachers have the ability to choose where, when, how to engage students in learning. As options increase, it is increasingly important to leverage the most appropriate and effective teaching methods. In this workshop, participants will explore seven common ways of learning in higher education. However, we will go beyond the usual discussion of tips and techniques to explore the underlying purpose, rationale, and best use of these methods. Participants will explore their own learning goals and tie them to the most effective teaching methods.
