CLEVELAND, Miss. — For the 2nd consecutive year, Delta State University’s Entertainment Industry Studies program has been named among Billboard magazine’s Top Music Business Schools for 2023. The news appeared in the October 7 issue of the magazine.

The exclusive list places DSU alongside renowned programs such as Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Middle Tennessee State University.

Delta State’s Entertainment Industry Studies program offers students a comprehensive and dynamic education in the technological, creative, and business aspects of the entertainment industry through the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Industry Studies degree. With a focus on hands-on learning experiences, students receive the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the field, gain valuable industry knowledge and connections, and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in entertainment.

Delta State University is a public institution providing a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate curriculum to approximately 3,000 students representing all the states and 50 different countries. Dozens of degree programs on the undergraduate level provide educational opportunities in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business and Aviation, and Education and Human Sciences and in the Robert E. Smith School of Nursing. Graduate programs on the master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral levels provide advanced training in a broad range of disciplines.

“It is a tribute to our DMI faculty for this program to be included for the 2nd year in a row,” said Richard Tremmel, Chair of the Entertainment Industry Studies program, also known as the Delta Music Institute, or DMI. “Our faculty bring their diverse experiences in the industry to the classroom for the benefit of these students, one of whom used her audio engineering skills to win a GRAMMY this year.”

A career in the entertainment industry requires a wide range of skills and expertise, plus determination. Tremmel said, “At Delta State University, the Entertainment Industry Studies program offers the ideal platform to achieve your goals.
