George B. Walker Natatorium

The natatorium, completed in 1969 and dedicated in 1970, houses an indoor-outdoor pool and auxiliary facilities. Classes are taught here in swimming, lifesaving, and water safety. The natatorium, which meets AAU specifications is open each day for recreational use by students and faculty. The name commemorates the tremendous public service of Mr. George B. Walker to the State of Mississippi and especially to Delta State University when he served as a member of the Board of Trustees, State Institutions of Higher Learning, from 1936 to 1940.
