Status of Vice President and Dean Searches

Dear Colleagues,

I write to give you an update on the search process for the six executive-level searches that have been underway: 1) Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, 2) Vice President for Enrollment Management, 3) Vice President for Finance and Administration, 4) Vice President for University Advancement, 5) Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and 6) Dean of the College of Business and Administration.

You will receive an email this afternoon from the Committee Chairs of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs search and the Vice President for University Advancement search regarding next week’s interview schedule with their finalists.

Regarding the search for the Vice President for Enrollment Management and the Vice President for Finance and Administration positions, the process is taking a little longer in order to ensure we have a pool of well-qualified applicants. The on-campus interviews for these positions will likely take place later this month or in June.

For the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences search and the Dean of the College of Business and Aviation search, I notified the Search Committee Chairs and members this morning that I am suspending those two searches. I would like to clarify our shared understanding of the qualifications we expect from candidates and clarify an element of ambiguity in the job posting. No finalists for these two searches will be on campus next week, and I will work with committee members on next steps.

I hope you will take time to meet with the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs candidates and the Vice President for University Advancement candidates, who will be on campus next week, and to provide your feedback to the committee.
