By October 16, 2020

Zathomasious Jones, a countertenor majoring in vocal performance and music education, will perform his junior recital at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, in the recital hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

The recital, presented by Delta State University’s Department of Music, is free and open to the public.  A live stream of the performance will also be made available via Facebook Live.

A native of Horn Lake, Miss., Jones is the son of Katrina Miller and Thomas Jones. Since attending DSU in 2018, he has performed with the DSU Chorale, DSU Chamber singers and the DSU Opera and Musical Theater program.

One of Jones’s most memorable moments so far during his undergraduate career has been performing with a live orchestra, singing the “Qui Sedes” aria from Vivaldi’s “Gloria in D Major”.

Jones, a student of Dr. Jamie Dahman, will be performing arias and art songs by Fredric Handel, Florence B. Price, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Faure and Antonio Vivaldi.
