Wired for Sound set for Sept. 12

The Wired for Sound concert series is a succession of shows, which will demonstrate four different genres that developed from the birthplace of America’s music, including Blues, Gospel, Country, and Americana. The purpose is to celebrate our resonant musical history, with a variety of up and coming southern artists.  The aim of this project is to gather our town together for several enjoyable evenings of music and great Mississippi cooking.

  • Q&A with Jesse “Guitar” Robinson at 12:15 p.m. @ DMI Studio A

o Join a discussion with Jesse “Guitar” Robinson, DMI student and Wire for Sound organizer Olivia DeGrado, and DMI faculty about music, the music business, and the rich musical heritage of the Mississippi Delta. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

  • Concert featuring Jesse “Guitar” Robinson and his band at 6 p.m. @ Downtown Cleveland Green Space

o Attendees are invited to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, and ice chests. This event is free and open to the public. Food vendors will be present. Opening act: DMI student Tyan Nash and DMI alum Keith “Prince of the Delta Blues” Johnson
