Victor McDowell, Baritone, Senior Vocal Recital March 7

Baritone Victor McDowell Jr. will sing his senior recital on Thursday, March 7 at 1:40 PM in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital, presented by the Delta State University Department of Music, is free and open to the public.

McDowell is from Batesville, Miss. and is a graduate of South Panola High School. He attended Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. After graduating, he transferred to Delta State, where he became a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. During the 2018-19 academic year, McDowell was president of the Delta State Choirs. He will graduate in December 2019 with a bachelor of music education degree and become a high school music educator. He intends to study for a master of educational leadership degree and become a school administrator.

A student of Dr. Jamie Dahman, assistant professor of music, McDowell will perform the music of Handel, Cuney-Hare, Mendelssohn-Hensel, Schumann, and Vaughan Williams. He will be accompanied at the piano by Dr. Kumiko Shimizu, professor of music.
