Sung-Eun Ryu, a piano performance major, will give her junior recital on Thursday, Feb 7 at 1:40 PM in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Art Center. The recital, presented by the Delta State University Department of Music, is free and open to the public.
An international student from Gyeonggi-do Hwaseong, South Korea, Ryu is a member of Delta State Chorale and Wind Ensemble as well as the pianist at St. Luke Methodist Church. She has won several honors for her piano performances, including representing Mississippi in the Music Teachers National Association Competitions, 1st place in the Mississippi Music Teachers Association Collegiate Competitions, and awards in the DSU chamber ensemble competition. Ryu also has twice been selected to perform at the DSU Department of Music Honors recital. And she has consistently earned placement on the Dean’s and President’s Lists for her academic work.
Ryu, a student of Department Chair Dr. Karen Fosheim, will perform selections by Haydn, Debussy, and Ginastera.
