Percussionist Derrick Williams, Jr. to Present Senior Recital Nov. 4

The Delta State University Department of Music will present a senior recital for percussionist Derrick Williams, Jr., on Thursday, Nov. 4,  at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.

The event will also be live-streamed on the DSU Department of Music Facebook page.

Williams, a senior Bachelor of Music Education-Instrumental major from Laurel, Miss.,  has been involved in world percussion, choir, marching band, wind ensemble and percussion ensemble. Williams is the current Mu Phi Epsilon president and a Merle Lewis Little scholarship recipient.

Williams will perform selections by William Cahn, Ivan Trevino, William Kraft September and Gene Koshinski.

Williams is from the studio of Dr. Josh Armstrong.
