Music students place atop singing competition

Delta State University music students competed at the Mississippi Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi on February 23-24. The total number of competitors was over 100 students from across the state.

Elizabeth McWhorter, who is pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance, won first place in the senior classical women division; Austin Means, a sophomore Bachelor of Music Education student, won first place in the lower college music theater men division; and Jayla Isom, a Bachelor of Music Education student, won second place in the freshman classical women division.
