Music Education Major Gabriel McGee Senior Voice Recital on April 11

Senior music education major Gabriel McGee will present his senior voice recital on Thursday, April 11 at 1:40 PM in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital, presented by the Delta State University Department of Music, is free and open to the public.

He will perform classical, music theater, and crossover works by composers such as Mozart, Ravel, Schubert, Schumann, Cohen, Kander, and Lim Hyung-joo; Dr. Kumiko Shimizu, DSU professor of Music, will accompany him piano on piano.

McGee is a native of Batesville, Miss., where he attended South Panola High School. He attended Northwest Mississippi Community College, participating in numerous National Association of Teachers of Singing events, University of Southern Mississippi’s Southern Invitational Choral Conference events, and show choirs. During his time at Delta State, McGee has sung with the DSU Chorale. He serves as a work study student in the Music Office. He also is a section leader in the First Presbyterian Church Choir. McGee studies under Dr. Laurissa Backlin, assistant professor of music at Delta State.
