The Mississippi Department of Transportation has begun the work of replacing the cross walk signal poles and sensors at the intersection of Highway 8 and Fifth avenue. Due to the repairs being made, the Cleveland Police Department will close Fifth Avenue from Oak Street to Highway 8 and the DSU entrance into Walter Sillers coliseum. These closures will remain in effect through Friday, July 20. Pedestrian traffic at the intersection of Fifth and Highway 8 will be totally closed until Friday. Please be patient and exercise extreme caution at this intersection during this time.
