Free Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing April 20 for Bolivar County at Delta State’s Horace McCool Stadium

By April 20, 2020

Free tests for COVID-19 will occur today, Monday, April 20, for Bolivar County, by appointment only from 9 AM to 4 PM at Horace McCool Stadium on the campus of Delta State University, through the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Mississippi State Department of Health.

To be eligible for the mobile, one-day drive-through test, you must first complete a free screening via the C Spire health smartphone app or by phone at 601-496-7200. The app is available for screening from 8 AM to 8 PM seven days a week. Anyone not experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or sore throat—any symptoms associated with COVID-19—is asked not to use the app or call.

Mississippians who are screened as being at high risk for having COVID-19 are given an appointment at a testing site to provide a specimen sample, via a nose swab, without exiting their vehicle. They should wait at home, practicing self-isolation, for the results.

Anyone determined to be at low risk for infection will receive instructions on social distancing, home isolation and self-care—and be told to call back if symptoms worsen.
