DSU Tennis Fundraiser set for Sept. 17

By September 7, 2017
Delta State University head men’s and women’s tennis coach, Jeffrey Farris, would like to invite fans to the “Initial Delta State Tennis Fundraiser and Social” on Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Cleveland Country Club tennis courts. The fundraiser will be an event where participants can participate in 90-minute sessions of on-the-court drills lead by the men’s and women’s tennis players. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the tennis teams in an introductory session before the start of skill sessions.
“I would like to invite all our fans, league tennis players and alumni to enjoy an afternoon of tennis and support the Delta State men’s and women’s programs on Sept. 17,” Farris said. “This event will provide fans and league players across the area with a chance to hone their skills and meet our tennis teams. I would like to give a special thank you to the Cleveland Country Club and to the Head Tennis Pro David Misner for helping make this event possible. I hope to see everyone out on the court at the Cleveland Country Club.”
The cost is $60 per person and $100 per couple, with all proceeds going to facility enhancements, scholarships and equipment for Delta State men’s and women’s tennis. Each participant will receive a complimentary Delta State tennis towel, included with the cost of registration.
Following the team introductions and 90-minute skill sessions, will be a doubles competition from 5 to 6 p.m. where participants will be drawn at random to play a 30-minute doubles match with the tennis teams. For those who do not want to participate in on-the-court action, there will be live entertainment and food and beverages served courtside.
If you or your business would like to sponsor, court sponsorships are available at $250 per court, with a total of seven courts available. Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event.
