Dr. Karen Fosheim, professor and chair of the Department of Music at Delta State University, will present a recital of American piano music on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 7:30 PM in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
The performance reflects the diversity that is American music in the 20th century. Selections include the ragtime and blues music of Scott Joplin, May Aufderheide, W. C. Handy, and William Bolcom; a sonata by Polish-American composer Robert Muczynski; and piano etudes by African-American composer H. Leslie Adams.
