The Delta State University Department of Music will present Barbara Doorenbos in her senior capstone presentation, “An Introduction to Music Therapy,” on Oct. 26 at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Doorenbos, a senior flute major from Saltillo, Mississippi, is the daughter of Lissa and David Doorenbos. She studies with Dr. Shelley Collins, associate professor of music at Delta State.
She was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Since entering DSU in 2015, Doorenbos has performed with the DSU Wind Ensemble, Flute Quartet, and Flute Ensemble, and is captain of the DSU Color Guard.
