Delta State’s Dept. of Music to host program of remembrance for Dr. Karen Fosheim Sept. 22

Delta State University’s Department of Music will host a program of remembrance for the late Dr. Karen Fosheim at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.

The program will be held in the Band Hall, located in Zeigel Hall (109A) on Delta State’s campus. The evening will include music and remembrances by current and former students and colleagues. This event is open to the Delta State community and the public.

Fosheim passed away on June 14, 2022. She was a long-time professor of music and served as chair of the Music Department at Delta State. She taught Piano, Music Theory courses and Music in American Culture.

Fosheim was co-director of the Community Drumming Ensemble. She was an active performer who appeared as a soloist and collaborative pianist around the U.S., Mexico and South Korea.

Gifts and memorials made in remembrance of Fosheim are being directed to support the fine arts programs in Webster, S.D., and Delta State.
