Delta State University will host Mississippi Stock Market Game workshops this fall and spring for local students grades 4-12. The Stock Market Game is a simulation of a real market, designed to involve students in the world of finance and investing all while helping them learn how a market economy works. Teams of 3-5 students from each grade will invest a hypothetical $100,000 and will compete for the best portfolio performance. Student incentives will be awarded to eligible participating schools. There is no cost to participate.
Teachers grades 4-12 interested in participating are encouraged to attend the Stock Market Game Workshop, hosted from 9 a.m .to. 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Center for Economic Education and Research (Broom Hall). The workshop is required for all new teachers. Registration is free, and curriculum will be provided. Participants will be eligible for 0.5 CEUs. Teachers can click HERE to sign up. The deadline to register is Sept. 23 at noon.
