The Delta State University flag will fly at half-staff from Tuesday, February 20, through sunset on Thursday, February 22, in honor of Delta State Purchasing Coordinator Emeritus, Margie Millican, of Cleveland, Mississippi. Millican passed away on February 18, 2024. She was 85.
Ms Margie began working at Delta State in September of 1981, as the Executive Secretary for Purchasing. She was promoted to Purchasing Coordinator in 1993, and retired from Delta State in 2009. She had a passion for reading and traveling, hobbies that brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Beyond her professional achievements, she found true happiness in the simple pleasures of life and making unforgettable memories with those she held dear. Ms. Margie was a loving soul who adored her family, with a special place in her heart for her children. In the hearts of those who knew her best, Ms. Margie will forever be remembered for her warm nature and unwavering love.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home, 206 Bishop Road, in Cleveland, MS. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the North Cleveland Cemetery. Brother Brad Beckwith will officiate.
