“Bulgarian Art Song” completed

By May 31, 2018

“Bulgarian Art Song” is a collection of art songs that were composed by Bulgarian composers. Jamie Dahman, assistant professor in the Department of Music, collected several scores during his time in Bulgaria as a Fulbright Fellow.

A collaboration with Dr. Gabriela Hristova of the University of Michigan-Flint, this 16-song curation is the first such anthology in the United States. In addition to the songs, it includes a brief history of the development of Bulgarian art song, a chapter on lyric diction, and an information sheet about the composers represented in the volume.

“Bulgarian Art Song” is published by Classical Vocal Reprints and was generously supported by a Faculty Research Grant from Delta State University.
