Bridget Arend, Authority on the Teaching of Learning, to Offer Two Sessions at Delta State on Jan. 23

By November 28, 2018

Dr. Bridget Arend, coauthor of Facilitating Seven Ways of Learning, will speak about how to tie learning goals to teaching methods in higher education on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019.

Executive director of the Office of Teaching and Learning at University of Denver, Arend will discuss how the popularity of active-learning methods and the explosion of different teaching options provide faculty with the ability to choose where, when, and how to engage students in learning. Both sessions are free and open to any Delta State employee.

  • From noon to 1 PM, she will present the talk, “Seven Ways of Learning: Matching Your Goals with the Most Effective Teaching Methods.”
  • From 3:30 to 5 PM, she will offer a workshop, “Teaching for Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking and Skill Development.” This workshop has space for 22 participants, and each participant who RSVPs will receive a copy of Facilitating Seven Ways of Learning.

To register for either or both events, go online to the Gertrude C. Ford Center for Teaching and Learning website: https://www.deltastate.edu/academic-affairs/events/.
