What does this award mean to you?
This award was such a fun surprise! I think recognition and positive feedback are super important morale boosters and are two of the best (and simplest) ways to motivate employees – especially when a special, reserved parking spot is involved!
What do you like best about your job?
I most enjoy communicating with students and seeing my former Cleveland High/Cleveland Central students on campus. It makes me proud to know they’re continuing their education here at Delta State.
What do you like best about Delta State?
Ray Merritt, my dad, was a psychology professor who retired from DSU, and I spent lots of time in his Ewing office; in the coliseum watching Debbie, Ramona, and Lusia play championship-level basketball; and on the golf course with him and Jim Armishaw, so I have very fond memories of growing up at Delta State. Working here reminds me of all those good times. DSU is a great place to work, especially in the UPD.
