Johnson said, “Receiving the teacher scholarship from MPE is not just a recognition of my dedication to education, but also an affirmation of the value placed on empowering educators to make a difference in classrooms. This scholarship serves as both a financial support and a symbol of encouragement, fueling my passion to continue fostering a nurturing learning environment for all my future students. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity.”

Nicole Spinks, Instructor of Teacher Education at Delta State, was one of Johnson’s professors for several semesters. She expressed her admiration for Johnson, saying, “During his time at Delta State, Nick has been active in organizations on campus, such as SGA, with elementary education organizations, volunteering his time for The Janie Allen-Bradley Bedtime Story Hour, assisting with recruitment activities, and served as a co-presenter with faculty in Biloxi at the Mississippi Literacy Association’s Winter Conference. Nick has a passion for education and a heart for service; the impression he will leave on his future students will be as lasting as the one he has had on our elementary education program.”
