From informative sessions to interactive activities, the event showcased the university’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive community for all students.

DSU President Dr. Dan Ennis welcomed the incoming freshmen and their families during an opening session in Jobe Auditorium.

Dr. Ashley Tanksley, Interim VP of Admissions at DSU, reflected on the success of the event, saying, “It was truly a remarkable day for our 2024 freshmen families. The positive feedback we’ve received from families was overwhelming, with many expressing their appreciation for the sense of community and genuine care for students which was evident throughout the event. Hearing such affirmations reinforces the significance of our collective efforts and their impact on those we serve.”
