Emily HargettCLEVELAND, Miss. — The Delta State University Department of Music will present Emily Hargett in her Senior Saxophone Recital on November 30 at 1:35 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
Hargett, a senior Music Education major from Charleston studies with Dr. Bret Pimentel, Professor of Music. Hargett transferred from Northwest Mississippi Community College, where she studied under Jennifer Whitehead.
Pimentel said, “Emily is a bright and promising future music educator and has worked very hard preparing this recital. It is sure to be an outstanding performance.”
Since entering DSU in 2021, Hargett has been involved with the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Saxophone Quartet, World Percussion Group, and Flute Ensemble. She is also a member of the National Association for Music Education, Phi Theta Kappa Honor’s Society, Mu Phi Epsilon, and Pi Kappa Lambda Honor’s Society.
Hargett will be performing compositions by Fisher Tull, Ryo Noda, Paule Maurice, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.
