He earned the first prize in the Mississippi Music Teachers Association competitions in 2020, as well as the second prize in the same competition this spring. This year, he was selected as a performer in the DSU Department of Music Honors Recital, which will take place on April 17. He is also a member of the Delta State Chorale and the pianist at Bible Fellowship Church.

Sullivan, a student of Dr. Jung-Won Shin, professor of music, will perform selections composed by Bach, Beethoven, Scriabin, Chopin, and Kapustin.

Dr. Shin said, “Cameron Sullivan is a talented and creative piano student that I have always enjoyed working with. He has earned several honors and has written numerous compositions with plans to pursue a master’s degree in composition.”
