By September 8, 2022Alumni, Foundation

CLEVELAND, Miss.— On Sept. 15, 97 years ago, Delta State University commenced its first day of classes for the first time. With its centennial celebration on the horizon, the University will once again commemorate this historic milestone while furthering the advancement of the institution during the 2022 Delta State Day of Giving.

Set for Sept. 15, the 2022 Giving Day will bring students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Delta State together to support the Delta State Fund (formerly known as the Annual Fund).

The Delta State Fund is unrestricted which means the gifts received on Giving Day will be used to support areas with the greatest need on campus.

According to Delta State Fund Coordinator Mallory Burchfield, in the past, the fund has supported various expenditures, including scholarships, campus maintenance and other operational expenses.

“This makes the money raised through the Delta State Fund extremely important in continuing to further the advancement of Delta State and its students,” said Burchfield. “We hope that everyone will consider donating this year to commemorate Delta State’s 97th anniversary and the Delta State Day of Giving.”
