Call for Projects for Second Annual Spring for Success Microgrants — Due by Jan. 20

By January 10, 2020Faculty/Staff, Foundation, Students

Have a project that you’re excited about? That you need funding for? And that would benefit Delta State?

Then enter a proposal for Delta State University Foundation’s second annual Spring for Success online giving day.

Delta State staff, students, and faculty with a project—on any topic so long as it will somehow make a positive impact on DSU—are invited to submit requests.

If you have a worthwhile project that will cost up to $5,000 to complete, submit a simple proposal of one page or less to James Forte’, annual fund director, via email at jforte@deltastate.edu by 5 PM on Jan. 20.

Three projects will be chosen for funding based on the below guidelines.

When the three winning proposals will be announced: the week of Jan. 27.

The second annual Spring for Success online giving day will be held on March 19.

What could the proposals be? Last year, the three projects chosen for sponsorship came from Athletics, which replaced the Statesman mascot suit; the Social Work Department, which replaced equipment for a Virtual Dementia Tour®; and the University Police, which replaced its bulletproof vests.

Funding for year two remains the same as from year one. Each sponsored project will be expected to raise $2,500, with help from Communications and Marketing. Each sponsored project that does so will get that $2,500 matched by the DSU Foundation—so have $5,000 to spend. And the project that raises the most money will receive an additional $1,000—meaning $6,000 total.

(Additional money raised beyond the $2,500 for each project will go to the General Scholarship Fund.)
