By February 7, 2019College of Arts and Sciences

Delta State University Department of Music will host talented high school and community college student musicians on Wednesday, Feb. 27 for a day of welcome activities and scholarship auditions.

“DSU Music Audition Day is an opportunity for prospective students to experience a day of music activities at DSU, in addition to auditioning for scholarships. Music Audition Day is open to potential music majors and non-majors alike,” said Dr. Jamie Dahman, assistant professor of music and coordinator of the event. “Students will be able to share a meal with our music students and faculty, observe rehearsals, tour campus, and meet representatives from Admissions, Housing, and Financial Aid.”

Music Audition Day also serves as an opportunity to display the talents of several outstanding DSU music students. Winners of the annual Chamber Music Competition will be selected to perform at the Student Showcase Recital in the Bologna Performing Arts Center Recital Hall at 2 PM on Feb. 27. The performance is free and open to the public.

DSU Music Audition Days are held three times each year (with a final date scheduled for April 1). Students may also audition for scholarships by appointment.
