Fireside Chat – January 7, 2019 – New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year! Speaking of which, many of us adopt New Year’s resolutions. Here are some fun facts about them.

  • 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail by the second week of February.
  • The most common resolutions are eating healthier, exercising, and saving money.
  • Other popular resolutions? Travel more, read more, or learn a new skill or hobby.
  • University of Scranton research from 2013 suggests that just 8 percent of people achieve their New Year’s goals.

The Campus Counseling Center is a free service to students, faculty, and staff. It provides individual and group assistance in adapting to stressful situations while attending DSU. And the counseling center can help you stick to your New Year’s resolutions.

In other news on campus, day and night classes resume today, and late registration for the spring semester begins tomorrow.

In athletic news, Statesmen and Lady Statesmen basketball host West Florida on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. and Valdosta on Saturday starting at 2 p.m.
