Students at Bell Academy, Pearman Elementary, Parks Elementary, D. M. Smith Elementary, and Presbyterian Day School are receiving copies of reduced-price children’s books this week as part of the Read It, See It, Be It program at the Bologna Performing Arts Center (BPAC). Nearly 1,000 books have been given to K-5 students as part of the program.

Operating in conjunction with the School-Time Matinee Series, BPAC provides copies of books on which the matinee performances are based for $1 per copy to students who attend the shows, as well as free study guides for teachers. On Thursday, Nov. 1, BPAC will present two performances of TheatreWorks USA’s The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System, at 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM. The 9:30 AM performance is sold out; seats are available for the 11:30 AM performance. The performance is sponsored locally by Walmart.

The final performance for the fall semester will be Lightwire Theatre’s A Very Electric Christmas on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Limited seating is available for the 11:30 AM production. Spring 2019 semester offerings will include Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure on Jan. 15, Ronald K. Brown’s EVIDENCE Dance Company on March 21; and Junie B. Jones on March 29.
