DSU’s August Health Champion: Alum Mother/Daughter Duo

Name: Crystal (’10) & Peyton Clark
Major: BSE in Physical Education & 2nd Grader at Eagle Creek Elementary, Orlando, FL.
Job/Position: Elementary Physical Education Specialist at Eagle Creek Elementary, Orlando, FL.
Health Accomplishments: five 5ks, a 15k, a half marathon, a half Ironman, a handful of obstacle course runs, and a full Tough Mudder; led a bootcamp-style class with teacher friends; one of her most rewarding experiences. Peyton earned 2nd and 3rd place in the 2017 & 2018 Delta Down and Dirty Youth Mud Run, respectively. She is active in softball, basketball, ballet, and soccer, as well as fitness with her mom in local parks.
Health Goals: Short term: To stay active during pregnancy. Long term: To find as many ways to experience fitness and engage family in a fun, active, and healthy lifestyle.
Health Advice: Always find enjoyable ways to keep active. Exercising and healthy eating should not be a chore. Find friends to share fitness experiences. Fitness can be fun when you are immersed in a healthy and active culture!
