Bologna Performing Arts Center Seeks Volunteers

The Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University is preparing for its upcoming season of concerts, national Broadway tours, dance, and shows for school age children. With a full working stage, orchestra lift, and two performance spaces, the Bologna Performing Arts Center (BPAC) hosts over 250 events annually through its annual season of touring productions in addition to hosting university and community events.

The center relies on a strong cadre of volunteers known as Ambassadors to help operate each season. “Our Ambassadors are the face of the center,” said Laura Howell, BPAC executive director. “From welcoming our patrons as they come in, to scanning their tickets, and helping them find their seats, our Ambassadors are what give our world-class performing arts center that personal touch.” The BPAC is seeking new Ambassadors for the upcoming 18-19 season which features performances such as Boz Scaggs, JERSEY BOYS, John Prine, Trace Adkins, and The Wizard of Oz.

New training sessions are scheduled Monday – Thursday on August 6, 7, 8, and 9, with multiple time slots each day at the BPAC. Ambassadors must be at least 18 years of age, able to stand for long periods of time, assist patrons up and down flights of stairs, and commit to volunteering at least 5 performances a year in addition to the annual training session. Individuals interested in joining the volunteer program should stop by or call the BPAC at 662-846-4625 with any questions or to inquire about training sessions.

A multidisciplinary facility, the Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University was built in 1994 through state funding from the Mississippi legislature. The 2018-2019 lineup is the center’s 24th Season. For more information about the center, visit www.bolognapac.com.
