Delta State University’s Center for Community and Economic Development’s Breast Education and Early-detection Project (BEEP) partnered with the B.B. King Museum, St. John Hospice and Palliative to host a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar. The event was held at the B.B. King Museum in Indianola. A proclamation was presented by Indianola mayor Steve Rosenthal to Kizmet Cleveland, an AmeriCorps* VISTA member serving with BEEP.

BEEP Project Coordinator Gail Bailey led an education session during the event on breast health. Taneisha Jackson and Jimisha Washington, both AmeriCorps* VISTA members, assisted in providing breast cancer information to more than 80 participants at the seminar. BEEP is funded by the Central Mississippi Steel Magnolia Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
