Delta State University President William N. LaForge, Chair of Accounting Clint Wood, and the Dean of the College of Business Dr. Billy Moore recently met with alumni Dr. Edd Milam ‘65 and Mr. James Garverick ‘64 to discuss their desires to increase the John Yurkow Scholarship Fund.
Milam and Garverick credit their professional success to past Chair of the Accounting Department John Yurkow and their accounting professors. The donors plan to reach out to other accounting alumni who have had the same educational experience at Delta State and request their support of the scholarship fund.
Wood stated, “Dr. Milam and Mr. Garverick have experienced the opportunities created for them by the Delta State faculty. They know the same is available to our students today. They are committed to helping our accounting majors have the same success they have had.”
