A British TV production company recently filmed at the Delta Center for Culture and Learning  at Delta State University.  Producer/Director Jon Brewer interviewed Delta Center Director Dr. Luther Brown as part of a series of four TV shows that will examine the state of the Blues in Mississippi today.  Brewer is particularly interested in the Mississippi Blues Trail and the appearance or re-appearance of Blues clubs like Ground Zero and Club Ebony.  Brewer’s publicist writes “Our Production company is Emperor Media Ltd., we have just completed the BB King Film ‘BB King: The Life of Riley’ Directed by Jon Brewer and Narrated by Morgan Freeman which was released Theatrically in the UK at the end of 2012 and will be released in the US later this year.”

Following the success of his B.B. King film, Brewer now turns his camera on the key music of the twentieth century – The Blues. His new compelling film series ‘On the Trail of the Blues’ (working title) explores the music in a refreshingly new way exposing the turbulent history that lies beneath the songs and the people who created it. This independently funded film is now in production revealing who shaped The Blues, exploring the people’s lives of the time, their economic struggle and turbulent politics. ‘On the Trail of the Blues’ (working title) takes the viewer on a remarkable musical journey covering nearly 200 hundred years of American change, history and music.”
