Delta State’s Continuing Education to offer holiday classes

In preparation for the holiday season, Delta State’s Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies has scheduled several creative and fun holiday classes for children in grades 4k – 6th.

Mini Merry Makers:
Bring your 4k – 5k little ones to an afternoon of holiday ornament making.  Each child will make several handmade treasures to enjoy for years to come.  The class will be conducted by Katie Franklin and held on Mondays, November 28 – December 12 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. in Room 111 in the Wright Art Building.  Cost of the class is $35 per child.

Lil’ Bakers:
Does your little one enjoy helping in the kitchen? Join us as we prepare and decorate baked goods such as sugar cookies, snowmen, reindeer and more treats for the holiday season. This class will be held in the Ada Swindle Mitchell Food Lab in Ewing Hall on Tuesday, December 6 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. The class is open to children in grades 4k – 5k, and the cost is $20 per child.  Lacey Fitts will be the instructor for this class.

Kids In the Kitchen: Gingerbread Houses:
Constructing a gingerbread house is a fun and delicious tradition. Pre-assembled gingerbread houses will be ready for your child to bring to life with unique decorations. This class will be held in the Ada Swindle Mitchell Food Lab in Ewing Hall on Wednesday, December 7 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. The fun is open to children in 1st – 6th grade, and the cost is $20 plus a $10 materials fee.  Dr. Cam McMillen will be the instructor for this class.

Dough Re Me:
Does your child enjoy creating a “masterpiece” with dough? Join us as we prepare and decorate baked goods such as cake pops, sucker molds, and more treats for the holiday season. This class will be held in the Ada Swindle Mitchell Food Lab in Ewing Hall on Tuesday, December 13 from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. The class is open to children in grades 1 – 6, and the cost is $25 per child.  Lacey Fitts will be the instructor for this class.
