The Delta State University family is shaken following the tragic deaths of 22-year-old Teikeia "Muff” Dorsey and 18-year-old Lashondria "Pinky" Rice, both Shaw natives. The two died this morning from injuries suffered after their vehicle was struck by a Shaw Police Department cruiser. The police officer was flown from the scene to Jackson. Officials are investigating the accident.
“The Delta State University family expresses heartfelt condolences to the families and everyone touched by this tragedy,” said Delta State President Dr. John M. Hilpert. “Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to reach out to one another to find support and comfort as we grieve together.”
