The Delta State University Robert E. Smith School of Nursing recently held its annual research day, providing an avenue for graduate students to present their research. Graduate students are assigned research projects in order to prepare advanced practice nurses with the ability to improve clinical practice either through new or existing knowledge. This year, 18 presentations were given by the second and fourth semester graduate students on various topics from promotion of health, delay in treatment, quality of life, nurses’ job satisfaction, practice breakdown, and rural health nursing. Sponsors of this year’s event include: PiXi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Robert E. Smith School of Nursing, Prime Care Nursing and North Sunflower Medical Center.
