Symphonic trombonists to perform at Delta State

Trombonists Anthony Williams of the Jackson Tennessee Symphony and David Dick of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra will be performing an evening recital Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

They will be assisted by pianist Amy Nguyen of Memphis. The recital will feature Romantic and jazz-influenced solo and duo music for trombone with piano accompaniment. 

Williams, a native of Arkansas, is a doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis, adjunct professor of music at Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis and Second Trombonist for the Jackson Symphony in Jackson, Tenn.
 
Dick, a native of Canada, is the principal trombone player for the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and MSO Brass Quintet and is an adjunct professor of music at Belhaven College and Jackson State University. 

These accomplished young artists will display the power and beauty of the trombone in an evening of dramatic pieces for the instrument.
