Delta State University’s Graduate and Continuing Studies will offer a new round of education class in May and June that includes Swimming Lessons, Kids College, Life Guarding and Major League Soccer camp.
Swimming Lessons:
Dan’l Murray swim instructor, will hold three sessions of swimming lessons scheduled to run Monday-Thursday for two weeks.
The first session is scheduled for May 25-June 4 with the second session scheduled for June 8-18 and the third session June 22-July 2.
Each session will have a beginners/level I class from 5:15- 6 p.m. and a Level II or Higher class from 6- 6:45 p.m. There will be an adult swim class only during session IIfrom 6:45-7:40 p.m.
There is limited of 25 participants for the classes. Payment must be received before securing a spot in one of the classes. The lessons will be held in the Delta State Natatorium. The fee is $65 per person per session.
Kids College:
Kids College is a series of fun and unique enrichment courses for kids in grades 1-6.
This one week educational program scheduled for June 1-5 will be taught by Delta State faculty or qualified and experienced instructors.
Grades 1-2 will attend half day from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for $120 per week. Grades 3-6 will attend all day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $230 per week
Life Guarding:
Ronnie Mayers, will be the instructor for this course scheduled to meet Monday through Thursday, May 18-21 from 6-9:30 p.m. in the Delta State Aquatics Center.
The fee is $150 per person. You must be 15 years old, be in sound health, attend all four days and pass a preliminary swimming test in order to receive certification.
Major League Soccer Camp:
The MLS soccer camps will be held June 15-19 at the Delta State Intramural Fields. Children ages 4, 5 and 6 can attend the 9-10:30 a.m. or 10:30-12 noon session. Cost is $75 per child. Student’s ages 7-12 and 13 and above will meet from 3-6 p.m. Cost is $115 per student.
Campers will receive a soccer ball, t-shirt and player evaluation.
