Delta State to offer upcoming continuing education classes for the months of April, May, June and July

Delta State University’s Graduate and Continuing Studies will offer a new line-up of education offerings that includes a Lunch and Learn class, Computers 102 class, Swimming classes, and a Kids College.

 
Lunch and Learn:
 
Dr. Cam McMillen will be instructor for this class scheduled for Friday, April 24, from 12 noon – 1 p.m. in the Ada Swindle Mitchell Food Lab in James M. Ewing Hall.
 
Come and enjoy a delightful lunch and leave with some great new recipes! The menu consists of Quiche, Soufflé, Meringue cookies and Meringue with fruit.
 
The fee is $15 per person or $25 for two. Space is limited! Open to first 25 participants only.
 
Computers 102: The Next Step:
 
The instructor for this class is Lynn Byrd, Delta State CIS Instructor. The class will be held on April 14, 21 and 28 from 4-6 p.m. in Room 173 of the Broom Lab. The registration fee is $55.
 
Swimming Lessons:
 
The objective of the course is to equip people with the basic swimming skills and knowledge in order to make them reasonably safe while in, out, on or about the water.
 
Dan’l Murray will be the instructor for the swimming lessons scheduled to meet at the Delta State Natatorium. All participants must be at least 5 years of age.
 
The maximum number of participants is 25 and spots are not guaranteed until payment is received.  The fee is $65.00 per session.
 
The course will include three sessions which will be held on Monday-Thursday for two weeks.
 
Session I will be held May 25-June 4.
 
Session II will he held June 8-18.
 
Session III runs June 22-July 2.
 
All sessions have a beginners and advanced class. The beginner’s session will be held from 5:15– 6 p.m. and the advanced session will be held from 6-6:45 p.m. During session II adult classes will be offered from 6:45-7:40 p.m.
 
 
Kids College:
 
Kids’ College is a series of fun and unique enrichment courses for kids in grades 1-6.
 
This one week educational program is scheduled for June 1-5 and will be taught by Delta State faculty or qualified and experienced instructors.
 
Kids in grades 1-2 will attend half day from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for $120 per week and Kids in grades 3-6 will attend all day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $230 per week.
