By December 11, 2008General

Students at Iuka Middle School, show off their new skeleton, heart and brain models. Judy Burcham, a science teacher at Iuka Middle School won the anatomy and physiology starter kit as a door prize at the Delta State University School of Nursing exhibit booth during the Mississippi Science Teachers Association Convention in Jackson.

Reaching out to the state’s science teachers is one of the latest approaches in the Delta State School of Nursing recruitment plan concerning the current nursing shortage. The Delta State School of Nursing is working towards more direct involvement with science teachers to provide them with key resources necessary to teach their students about health professions, and more specifically, the many career opportunities available through the nursing profession.
