Delta States Elliott-Nowell-White Science Symposium recognizes excellence

The 17th Annual Elliott-Nowell-White Science Symposium was held at Delta State University on the afternoon of Oct. 9, and the morning of Oct. 10.

The Annual Elliott Program of Excellence Recognition Luncheon was held following the Friday morning program of guest speakers. The Recognition Luncheon allows Dr. Robert Elliott and Dr. Mary C. Elliott, founders of the Elliott-Nowell-White Science Symposium, an opportunity to recognize and present awards for achievement to individuals and groups.

Elliott, Mr. Pete Johnson, of Clarksdale, co-chair of the Delta Regional Authority, recipient of a “Real Hero” Award; Joe Frazier, a world heavy-weight boxing champion of Philadelphia, Penn., recipient of a “Real Hero” Award; Dr. Mary C. Elliott and DSU President, Dr. John M. Hilpert.

The Elliott Program of Excellence Recognition Luncheon was held in the State Room of the H.L. Nowell Union on the Delta State campus.
