Biographical/Historical Sketch:
J.P. Sharp was the treasurer of the Bolivar County Cotton Company during the early part of the
20th Century.
Scope and Content:
This collection has many land deeds dating from 1903 up to the mid 1940s. This collection also
contains business letters written by and to Mr. J.P. Sharp. There are also business letters written
to Mr. J.W. Wyatt, who was the owner of the Bolivar Cotton Company. A small number of bills
and tax notes are in the collection as well. Several of Mr. Sharp’s personal papers are in the
collection including Mr. Sharp’s draft registration card, certificates of stock ownership, and some
miscellaneous bills. The collection also has a 1957 insurance policy on Mrs. J.P. sharp, and a few
personal letters written to Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Sharp by family and acquaintances.
