The Delta Means Change: Endangered Stories
The primary purpose of the project has been to preserve history told by those who lived it. Participants in Sharkey and Issaquena counties who live in or have lived in Sharkey and/or Issaquena counties for a significant period of time and have witnessed change in the Delta are represented by the list located to the right.
The ultimate impact of this project is to offer the community, researchers, and future generations a robust collection of reliable, primary source transcripts which archive life in Sharkey and Issaquena counties, over a spectrum of 80 years. The time to collect, preserve and share these endangered stories has arrived. Project directors and volunteers wish to thank each participant for sharing his/her life stories in such a meaningful way.
